Pizzeria Napoli is Tampere’s oldest pizzeria and has been part of the city’s culinary culture since 1978. Our extensive and diverse menu, abundant topping options, and authentic Italian atmosphere have delighted customers for decades. With a selection of over one hundred pizzas, we offer the widest pizza range in Finland and a unique experience even by European standards.

The story of Pizzeria Napoli
Napoli’s story began in 1976. That year, Rabbe Grönblom, later the founder of Kotipizza, established a chain called Pizzeria No. 1. Restaurants were opened across Finland, each named after an Italian city. One of these was Pizzeria No. 1 Napoli in Tampere.
The chain operated successfully until the 1980s, when in 1986 it was sold to Elanto. Grönblom continued his career and founded the Kotipizza chain. In the early 1990s, due to the economic downturn, Elanto closed most of its restaurants outside the Helsinki metropolitan area. At that time, Kalle Räsänen, the restaurant manager in Tampere and father of the current owner, decided to continue the traditional restaurant independently.
In October 1992, Räsänen became an entrepreneur and took over three restaurants, one of which was the current Pizzeria Napoli. Later, operations were centralized to a single restaurant, Pizzeria Napoli, which proved to be the most successful.
Since 1996, Napoli has operated as a family-owned business and has grown into one of Tampere’s most beloved restaurants.
In its early years, the menu was shaped under the guidance of Italian chef Ettore Pecorelli. Since then, both the menu and the restaurant have been regularly updated, also drawing inspiration from the United States.
Napoli has received numerous awards in local polls, including those by Aamulehti and Tamperelainen, and has remained one of Tampere’s most popular dining destinations year after year.
Today, Pizzeria Napoli is an integral part of Tampere’s local identity and dining culture. We are proud of our long history, but we continue to develop, ensuring that we can offer authentic Italian flavors and warm service well into the future.

Please note that table reservations are not accepted during lunch hours or on weekends from Friday evening to Sunday evening (Fri 16:00 – Sun 20:00).
